Levy and Rates

I have currently bought a property on Onverwacht. Please can someone confirm how rates and levies work. I was under the impression that the levy included rates. Is this correct?

Hi Tasha
If by "rates" you mean municipal rates and taxes, no, you will get a separate account from the Drakenstein Municipality, normally round about September, if I remember correctly. In my case this amounts to close to R5000 per year at present - I'm not sure if everyone at Onverwacht pays at the same rate. You have the option to pay monthly, but this you must arrange with the Municipality.
I'm surprised that no-one from the Home Owners Association Committee informed you of this?
